Description
Blades made from a single core to show refitting, in this instance from the Mesolithic period. The intention was to produce short straight blades and flakes that could be used for a range of utility tools and hunting points. Mesolithic cores tended to produce more but smaller blades than Neolithic.
This tool technology was scaled down in size to suit the mobility of the Mesolithic hunter gatherer.
